Healing Modalities
Sonic-Somatic Wellness is a form of sound therapy that works on physical, emotional and mental levels to facilitate stress-reduction, restore health and promote well-being. Loriel’s specialty is working with a variety of sound healing instruments; such as singing bowls, gongs or tuning forks.
Somatic Experiencing (SE), developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is a body-oriented approach to resolving the symptoms of trauma and chronic stress. Dr. Levine’s approach has been used effectively worldwide for over three decades.
Holotropic Breathwork was developed by Stanislav Grof M.D. and Christina Grof, two leading pioneers in the field of Transpersonal Psychology. Holotropic Breathwork sessions use accelerated breathing and a dynamic musical journey as a method of entering into a non-ordinary state of consciousness. A natural healing process is then activated within the psyche.
iRest® (Integrative Restoration) is a modern adaption of Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep). iRest® is a research based protocol that provides a systematic method for promoting healing, stress reduction and self-regulation. iRest® is used in the treatment of trauma, P.T.S.D., and many stress related illnesses; such as insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and depression.
“The sound meditations I have experienced with Loriel are exquisite and potent on so many levels. The journey of being touched by the soundscape itself is a delight, but even more than that, the after effects are quite tangible in my nervous system leaving me with a sense that my cells have all been reorganized into a coherent whole. I am deeply touched by these experiences in ways that are difficult to capture in words. Loriel is a true master at this art of sound meditation and her work continues to evolve in ever expanding and beautiful ways.”
